Finding the Best for You

I'm sure all of us have been approached by someone that has that miracle product. Sometimes it will put money in the pocket of the person promoting it. Sometimes it's of genuine concern & help.
With so many "miracle" products how do we choose the best for each of us? Unfortunately you have to try it. I say unfortunately because it may not work for you. Just because it worked for Aunt Pearl doesn't mean the same for everyone else.
I have put my money into many of these products. Some I liked but none were miraculous. This is the same with many natural organic products, including essential oils.
I love essential oils and will continue to promote them. I draw the line when someone asks "which one will work for me". That is an open question that I cannot even answer for myself. Recently I tried about 5 different oils until one worked for me with what I needed. It can be a frustrating process. With that said the oil that worked was not a one time use and it's done. You will get to that point but it may be a longer process. The great thing about essential oils is you shouldn't have to take it forever, just when you need it.
With natural products it pays to read the label carefully. If it's from another country they may not have the same rules for labeling that we have here. Just because it says natural doesn't always mean the same for each product. There is a company that tests products to see if they are genuinely organic. This process for the maker is expensive. A small company usually doesn't have the resources for this.
Food & Drug Administration (FDA) can trace its origins back to the creation of the Agricultural Division in the Patent Office in 1848, its origins as a federal consumer protection agency began with the passage of the 1906 Pure Food and Drugs Act.
A statement about the FDA is "responsible for advancing the public health by helping to speed innovations that make medical products more effective, safer, and more affordable and by helping the public get the accurate, science-based information they need to use medical products and foods to maintain and improve their health."
All in all the FDA is good for us. But...in my opinion, they seem a little too involved when it comes to essential oils and herbal remedies. They have controlled, shutdown or fined many people of their claims on how these items work. Those of us selling any aromatherapy products cannot use certain words. i have not heard of anyone getting fatally sick by these products. The irony is that a pharmaceutical drug has upteen warnings of other problems it causes and this IS approved by the FDA. Just sayin....
