Planting

Anyone else itching to start doing some gardening? When I was a kid my Dad read his garden catalogs like a novel this time of year. He had every window sill covered with starter tomato plants. These along with many other vegetables went into his two huge gardens. I don't remember eating tons of vegetables every day but I do remember how he enjoyed giving away his prized veggies.

We plant a small garden each year but don't even come close to the green thumb of my father. What has worked well for me is my mint, lavender, sage and lemon balm. They have done well for 3 years. I planted them because they smelled good. I have decorated with some that I dried. But that's about it.

Herbs are great for so many things but it seems like I'm stumped on what to do with it all. If you've ever grown peppermint you know how it takes over.

I would love to hear from all of you on what you do with your herbs. It doesn't have to be the ones I mentioned above. Give me your ideas and I will share them on my next blog.

"How blessed you will be, sowing your seed by every stream..." Isaiah 32:20

Until then, Happy Spring!
